What you can report

Any unexpected symptom, illness, or side effect that appears while taking a Varichem medicine — even if you are not sure the medicine caused it, and even if it is already listed in the package leaflet.

You can also tell us about a medicine that did not seem to work, a medicine taken by mistake or in the wrong dose, use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or a concern about the quality of a product.

What to include

The medicine: its name, strength, and the batch number and expiry date printed on the pack, if you have them.

What happened: the symptoms, when they started, how long they lasted, and whether the person has recovered.

The person affected: age, sex, and any other medicines or conditions that may be relevant. You do not need to give a name.

How we can reach you, in case our team needs to ask a follow-up question.

How we use your report

Reports are reviewed by our pharmacovigilance team and help us monitor the safety of our medicines. Where required, safety information is shared with the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ).

If you need medical help

Reporting a side effect to us is not a substitute for medical care. If you feel unwell, speak to your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse. In an emergency, go to your nearest clinic or hospital immediately.

Do not stop or change a prescribed medicine without first talking to a healthcare professional.
